The Evil One (plus one)

This album is absolutely fantastic. I don't know why this isn't more popular than it already is. Every song is memorable, even from the first listen. From the unnerving opening riff of "Two Headed Dog" to the loud pleas of "Mine Mine Mind", this disc never bores (with the possible exception of the slightly long "Stand for the Fire Demon"). The guitar playing and backing band are superb and fit the material like a glove. The lyrics cover everything from Satan to zombies and are delivered with the best vocal performance I've ever heard on a rock album.

Tracks:
    1. Two Headed Dog (Red Temple Prayer)
    2. I Think Of Demons
    3. Creature With The Atom Brain
    4. The Wind And More
    5. Don't Shake Me Lucifer
    6. Bloody Hammer
    7. Stand For The Fire Demon
    8. Click Your Fingers Applauding The Play
    9. If You Have Ghosts
    10. I Walked With A Zombie
    11. Night Of The Vampire
    12. It's A Cold Night For Alligators

Where the Pyramid Meets the Eye - Tribute to Roky Erickson

Roky Erickson was one of the 13th Floor Elevators, a legendary and very strange psychedelic garage band from Texas in the 1960s. He subsequently went solo and, rather famously, went a bit mad, resulting in his incarceration in a psychiatric hospital where he was given electroconvulsive treatment.

He struggled through the 70s and 80s and it was, oddly enough, with the production and release of this album that his fortunes began to revive. He had had little idea of how many people admired his music, but this album is a treasure trove of great alternative 80s bands - people like Thin White Rope, Bongwater, Angry Samoans, The Jesus and Mary Chain and Sister Double Happiness rub shoulders with 70s heroes like Doug Sahm, T-Bone Burnett, Richard Lloyd and ZZ Top.

Tracks:
    1. Reverberation (Doubt)
    2. If You Have Ghosts
    3. I Had to Tell You
    4. She Lives (In a Time of Her Own)
    5. Slip Inside This House
    6. You Don't Love Me Yet
    7. I Have Always Been Here Before
    8. You're Gonna Miss Me
    9. It's a Cold Night for Alligators
    10. Fire Engine
    11. Bermuda
    12. I Walked With a Zombie
    13. Earthquake
    14. Don't Slander Me
    15. Red Temple Prayer (Two Headed Dog)
    16. Burn the Flames
    17. Postures (Leave Your Body Behind)
    18. Nothing in Return
    19. Reverberation (Doubt)

Boys Don't Cry

I purchased the soundtrack after seeing the movie. The song Bluest Eyes in Texas caught me pretty heavily and puts a lump in my throat so big...
Looking at the tracks on it I was definately sold with The Knitters(although a different song was used in the movie) Roky Erickson and The Dictators all on one cd.
Was looking forward to the song Boys Don't Cry(The Cure's classic covered by Oleander) but the rest of the tracks make up for what is lost.

Tracks:
    1. The Bluest Eyes in Texas - Stephenson, Van
    2. A New Shade of Blue - The Bobby Fuller Four
    3. She's Got a Way - Smithereens
    4. Who's That Lady - Isley, OKelly
    5. Codine Blues - Marie, Buffy Sainte
    6. Silver Wings - Haggard, Merle
    7. Who Do You Love? - McDaniel, Elias
    8. Tuesday's Gone - Collins, Allen
    9. Haunt - Erickson, Roky
    10. Dustless Highway - Larson, Nathan
    11. What's Up with That? - Schernoff, Andrew
    12. Why Can't We Live Together - Thomas, Timmy
