If you love Nanci Griffith, you'll love this DVD! She's as great a singer on this DVD as she's ever been, and being able to SEE her, too, is frosting on the cake! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

I know this was not a major production when it was originally filmed, but I have to say that this is probably the worst looking DVD I have ever seen. Surely with the technology available today there could be a better master of this fantastic performance. The audio is great, which of course is the main reason for getting it. Nanci Griffith is one of my favorite singer/song writers, and I would still suggest this DVD even with the lackluster video quality.

20th Century Masters - The Millennium Collection: The Best of Nanci Griffith

Nanci Griffith's girlish voice and sometimes quirky delivery used to drive me nuts, but she is such an intricate songwriter that it's hard not to be won over eventually. I bought this CD a couple of months ago, and enjoy it quite a bit. "Trouble In The Fields" is my favorite Griffith song; it's so perfect. I had never heard "Late Night Grande Hotel" before I bought this disc; while many of her songs reflect on sadder themes ("And here you were thinking that you thought you knew me well/But no one ever knows the heart of anyone else/I feel like Garbo in this late night grande hotel/'Cause living alone is all I've ever done well.
