A great listen. A great watch. Put it on to work, read, cook, anything really. You get the great great tracks of Discovery to hear, and if you want to devote your eyes to the screen, there's a great story involved too. No dialogue, no script. Just pure Daft Punk goodness.

Discovery

I started listening to Daft Punk in 2007. My first purchase was their live album released that year, Alive 2007. I thought it would be a good place to start. And honestly, other than a few nice points here and there, I hated it. I certainly could not have enjoyed it not knowing any of their songs! I realize that now, but, at the time it seemed Daft Punk was an overrated, lame dance band.

Then, in 2008, I bought their best of. Just cuz I'd found that, with dance bands, the studio albums are overlong and mucky and filler-ridden.

Homework

As a casual techno/dance/club/etc. music listener, I do like most of this album. But comparing this to Daft Punk's later releases, especially my personal favorite Human After All or Discovery, it almost seems like a different group produced these songs. Around The World is still just as catchy as ever though.

Alive 2007

First off, Let me just say that I am a casual fan of Daft Punk. I don't own any other album, but through osmosis have come to recognize and enjoy their stuff over the years.

The Recording has a great ambiance to it. Throughout the recording you can really hear the roar of the crowd. The music is definitely loud and clear. The Low end of the recording really kicks your subwoofer into full effect. I'm sure on any decent sound system this recording will knock your socks off, on a Great system you're gonna feel like you're there.
