The look of Digital Landscape Photography is pleasing: inspiring photography in a graphic format that breathes with space and highlights the utility of the book. It's useful to hobbyists or professionals for tips on photographic principles on composition, exposure, motion, field-depth, and artistry. But it also goes in depth and detail on in-camera techniques and digital after-effects to make the most of the new digital medium, such as filters, color curves, and histograms. If it sounds complex, the author makes it understandable -- something you can master as you familiarize yourself with your tools.

Ansel Adams 2010 Wall Calendar

The calendar is in black and white which upset me at first because I thought it was going to be in color!!!

However, after putting it up on my light blue wall, I love it.

The only con is there are mostly California pictures in here which could be boring for some.

The Camera (Ansel Adams Photography, Book 1)

This is a great book for anyone interested in enhancing their knowledge about film photography. I'd recommend it for anyone interested in purchasing and using a film camera. Just as the title suggests, this book is about the camera itself. There's a useful chapter on lenses that will help you decide which type of lens to buy for your shooting needs. Plus there's a good chapter on image management: how to compose shots to create visually interesting photographs.

I've read all three books in this series, and while they do lean on the technical side I still consider them essential references for film camera enthusiasts.

The Negative (Ansel Adams Photography, Book 2)

I decided to buy this book after I gave a try to Ricardo Aronovich's "Exponer una historia", a book that makes a farily simple explanation of the Zone system for cinematographers. And I decided to do so because, for some reason, it's simplicity makes it really hard to understand, since it lacks a lot of the necessary math you'll need to understand the effect of light on film. Although much of the information in this volume doesn't cover digital technologies, the basic principles actually apply to any format.
