God Bless Tiny Tim

This album was Tiny Tim's first and best release, and as far as I'm aware, was Richard Perry's first release as producer - At least with a major record company. Ocasionally Tiny takes a back seat to Perry's immense production and that is not a bad thing. In fact its good, very very good. The arrangements and production here are superb. 'This is all I ask' and 'Strawberry Tea' are worthy of a George Martin. Beautiful. Breathtaking.

Tiny, when left to his own devices, could drift a little too much into the aimless and obscure but with Perry at the helm, a good mesh of old and new was incorporated.

Tracks:
    1. Welcome to My Dreams
    2. Tiptoe Through the Tulips with Me
    3. Livin' in the Sunlight, Lovin' in the Moonlight
    4. On the Old Front Porch
    5. Viper
    6. Stay Down Here Where You Belong
    7. Then I'd Be Satisfied with Life
    8. Strawberry Tea
    9. Other Side
    10. Ever Since You Told Me That You Love Me (I'm a Nut)
    11. Daddy, Daddy, What Is Heaven Like?
    12. Coming Home Party
    13. Fill Your Heart
    14. I Got You Babe
    15. This Is All I Ask

Live! At the Royal Albert Hall

This CD features a previously unreleased concert by Tiny Tim, at the Royal Albert Hall in London, 30 October 1968. It was such a major event, that even the Beatles and the Rolling Stones were in attendance. The concert was performed with a full orchestra, although sometimes Tiny sang here with no orchestral backing. This was during the height of Tiny's popularity, and was probably the biggest concert of his career. Tiny performs a lot of old songs, and a few new ones, in his trademark style. He usually will preface the song with some remarks about when the song was written and who originally sang it.

Tracks:
    1. God Bless Tiny Tim Overture - Tiny Tim, Perry, Richard
    2. Welcome to My Dreams - Tiny Tim, Burke, Johnny
    3. Livin' in the Sunlight, Lovin' in the Moonlight - Tiny Tim, Lewis, Sam M.

You Are What You Eat

{The title of my review is taken from the actual album. Once you've heard it you will understand the context.}

I have loved "You Are What You Eat" (YAWYE) ever since I first discovered it in that magical year of 1968. In all this time, I've come to love it more, if that is at all possible. The CD release is superb in quality.

This is not a record for the casual listener, I must say upfront. It's intense, pulsing, at times humorous and at other times nightmarish and disorienting.

Tracks:
    1. Teenage Fair (Helmet Commercial)
    2. Moments of Soft Persuasion
    3. Silly Girl
    4. Desert Moog Music
    5. Be My Baby - Barry, Jeff
    6. The Family Dog
    7. The Nude Dance - El Din, H.
    8. My Name Is Jack
    9. I Got You Babe - Bono, Sonny
    10. You Are What You Eat
    11. Beach Music
    12. The Wabe
    13. Don't Remind Me Now of Time
    14. Painting for Freakout
    15. Freakout - Electric Flag
