I love all the G3, Joe Satriani and Steve Vai together is like having the two best guitar legends combined into one, I have never heard of John Petrucci before, so it was great to hear another great guitarist, and the three togther its an awesome mix

If you are a G3 fan add this to the collections :-)

Visual Sound Theories

Steve Vai
Mr. Vai never ceases to amaze me... not only is this one of the best Orchestral/Rock performances I've seen to date, but, it is also great to see Steve do some of his old songs as well. Steve is truely a master of his craft. I highly recommend this DVD.

G3 - Live in Concert

Joe Satriani, Eric Johnson, Steve Vai
Though Joe Satriani starts of well the first thing that all this guitaring and shredding makes you do is turn the volume down. By the time Steve Vai goes on stage you've already had enough. I also somehow liked the sound of the Stratocaster more than the Ibanezes. It had a melodic touch to it. Inspite of this the virtuosity of the guitarists can never be undervalued. Great for students of the guitar but for the avid guitar listener it can become very tiresome. Eric Johnson's group where the drummer had a better role to play was also refreshing to watch and listen instead of having to focus all the time on the guitarists as in the performances of Joe Satriani and Steve Vai.
