I bought this in about 2005, It has been apart of my collection since. This 3 cd set has everything any genesis fan would ever need, in fact there is over 2 hours of music easy. However it's not just any tracks it's the tracks that made genesis the gods of Progressive rock, and the 80's icons. This is a must have. If you dont buy there box sets. The bos sets contain the albums, therefore, well you get the idea. I bought it just to have it as a collectors item, and I can put it down!

Metamorpheus

Hackett hops back and forth between the classical music and progressive rock worlds, and has had hit and misses in both. Happily, this is one of his most diverse and atmospheric classical accomplishments. Even fans who prefer his progressive work might find this a satisfying listen, since it occasionally echoes some of his Genesis era pastoral guitar interludes. Even though I greatly enjoyed "A Midsummer Night's Dream" this new CD seems more cohesive and satisfying overall. It's a lovely creation.

Sketches of Satie

"Sketches of Satie" is a collection of Erik Satie's compositions for piano, rearranged and performed by Steve Hackett (guitar) and his brother John (flute). The songs translate so well to flute and guitar, it's hard to believe they weren't originally composed for these instruments.

Fans of early Genesis won't be surprised by Hackett's virtuosity; the revelation here is John Hackett on flute. John's playing is so natural and fluent, it seems almost divinely inspired. On the first six tracks (Gnossiennes 3, 2 and 1 and Gymnopédies 3, 2 and 1), Steve provides subtle and steady accompaniment, allowing John's flute to handle the melodies.
