David Gilmour: Remember That Night - Live At The Royal Albert Hall [Blu-ray]

Even if you are not a particularly big fan of Pink Floyd there's a lot here to entertain. If you are fan, put this one in your shopping cart post haste. The sound is off the charts, the picture is fantastic and the performance is great. David Gilmour is as good as he ever was, perhaps even better. His voice has held up over the years and his very recognizable guitar style continues to raise goosebumps. Something I happened to notice about this particular concert is you never see cameraman, but there are shots being taken from every conceivable angle.

On an Island

If you are looking for more DARK SIDE OF THE MOON go buy a NEKTAR album. This is more mature deeply spiritual and intellectual music. Some complained calling it bedtime music, But I say its wonderful dreamy music to relax or slide off to dreamland with. Davids best solo effort thus far and thats not knocking the other two at all. Its complicated and rich full soundscapes require several listens to really appreciate. You Waters fans who give Gilmour bad reviews because you are bitter, just ask yourself who still has a career.

I've always been a music fanatic. For some reason I always seem to have music on no matter what. In the car, in the house, mp2 player, they're always up and running. I've collected music on vinyl, tape, disc and now online. And I've never limited myself to one form or another. Country, rock, r & b, jazz, soul, classic. I love them all.

An appreciation and love of music is not something you can force on someone. You either have it or you don't. You can be led to it, but to feel it rooted deep in your soul is another matter.
