Chuck Mangione - Greatest Hits

I bought this CD with the love of "Chase the Clouds Away" in mind and hoping that I would find other songs I liked as well. I do really like "Bellavia," but I was SO disappointed in the version of "Chase the Clouds Away." I listened over and over, trying to figure out what was wrong with this version. FINALLY, I put in my old tape of "Live at the Hollywood Bowl" and listened to "..Clouds.." on the tape. I THEN discovered what was missing on the CD's version - Grant Gysman (sp?) playing guitar.

This is the haunting and exhilerating soundtrack to the movie. It is pretty music and not too predictable.

The Best of Chuck Mangione

This is not what I expected. These are his hits from the later label and although the music is good its NOT his BEST. I would suggest the other Best of - from his earlier works.

20th Century Masters - The Millennium Collection: The Best of Chuck Mangione

I frankly don't understand some of the negative reviews this CD has received. It's a collection of all original recordings (except for the Hill Where the Lord Hides, taken from the A&M Hollywood Bowl live album), all full length. A thorough overview of Mangione's A&M work, with the added surprise of the Land of Make Believe from the original Mercury album. Super!
