Both John and Teresa are Doctors of the Church. Their words are significant, and we should pay attention to both of them. However, several reviews leave the impression that even though the two were friends they weren't exactly equal. We should pay more attention to John. Now, John did indeed create a masterpiece, but isn't Teresa considered the more brilliant writer of the two? Aren't there those who find her greater than Cervantes, perhaps the greatest writer Spain ever produced? And wasn't it Teresa who had the stronger personality? Wasn't she the friend who kept the other's spirits up? Somehow, I imagine them as a most saintly, but odd pair.

Saint John's Bible: Gospels and Acts

My daughter and I recently came back from Ireland where we saw the Book of Kells. Yesterday we went to the exhibit of the Saint John's Bible at the Phoenix Art Museum. If you have a chance to see the exhibiy in person don't miss it. The Saint John's Bible is the Book of Kells for our time. This art is astounding! There are no word's to describe the wonder of the Art. The most compelling image for me was the view from space of the earth. As a child of the space age the art appealed to me because it has the roots of the past yet with a modern twist.

I completely agree with the previous reviewer, this book is a short read that will make you look at life differently. Chrysostom definitely clears up all of the 'gray area' about who deserves help and who does not, like i said this book has the potential to change your life.
