Outrage: The Five Reasons Why O. J. Simpson Got Away with Murder

Very interesting book if you were fascinated like my husband and I were by the whole OJ Simpson trial.
For my husband, a defense attorney, who throughout the months of courtroom circus activities often argued with the tv for the inappropriate motions by the defense,the wildly arbitrary decisions by the judge and the lack of preparation and guts by the prosecution, this book is an affirmation of his strong feelings that this trial was a travesty from beginning to end.
Especially interesting were the important tidbits missed by the professional pundits that clearly showed the reasons the jury was mislead into a not guilty verdict - the biggest of which was the police interview with Simpson the day after the murders clearly showing his guilt, which the prosecutors were too timid to present to the jury.

In what may prove to be the definitive book on the trial of the century, New Yorker writer Jeffrey Toobin leaves no stone unturned to prove that O.J. Simpson was guilty of murdering his ex-wife Nicole Simpson and her friend, Ron Goldman.
The premise of the book is simple. OJ was guilty - his lawyers knew it and the evidence, overwhelming. The case was the prosecution's to lose. Which they did, through their incompetence and sheer arrogance, he argues. Granted, the defense played the race card from the get go - Toobin himself was the first to flush out their strategy early on and make it public through his explosive article in the The New Yorker.

Harvard Professor (and Simpson defense attorney) Alan Dershowitz writes a compelling book about the O.J. Simpson trial. He insightfully challenges many popular conclusions about the trial. For example, if the jurors were blinded by race in the vote for acquittal, then why did one of the white jurors--who admitted being offended by Cochran's closing argument which used rhetoric about race--vote for acquittal. He also declares that the press portrayed events differently than what happened in the courtroom.

Really not worth reading. Poorly written but more than that the author never forms conclusions. Re: OJ he was a 'consultant' for the defense so his 'objectivity' is severely compromised. He suspects OJ is innocent but offers no other idea as to what happened. He suggests a UFO autopsy may or may not be real. He is inconclusive in suggesting Vince Foster killed himself. When it's not downright unbelievable it's downright boring. Further he fawns at everyone including Lee, Ito, and the Today Show hosts; he's nice enough too to put in a good word for his wife.
