I was sold on this movie over 10 years ago and it still way outshines anything else, especially any other prison movie. I have seen it through from "start to finish" at least 12 or more times plus bits and pieces I have caught while channel surfing. Nominated for 7 Academy Awards this movie has a produced real cult following..(just Google it!!) This DVD played smoothly right away with no extra codecs needed or anything else on my Windows 7 64 bit Acer laptop using the built-in Windows Media Player.

Neither I nor my children could get past the first 15 minutes of this one. Although the young girl was adorable and precocious, she wasn't enough to carry the movie alone. It was dismal. The storyline wasn't strong. The idea seemed intriguing, however, the final product missed the mark. Skip this one.

I received this very quickly. However, it does seem that the soundtrack is somewhat of poor quality. It is audible and works fine enough to watch, but it did not seem to be up to par with most other DVD's. Possibly it is just that the movie is older.
