Who knew that a slasher film from the 80s could have large degrees of talent behind it? Part of the wave of holiday-themed slasher/horror films of the era (Halloween, Friday the 13th), Happy Birthday to Me featured an Oscar nominated director (J. Lee Thompson), a well-known leading lady (Melissa Sue Anderson from Little House on the Prairie), and a Hollywood legend (Glenn Ford); plus a handful of decently done killings. Thanks to the good folks at Anchor Bay, Happy Birthday to Me is finally here in its complete, unaltered form, with the film's haunting musical score restored to the film.
